Between 2018 and 2019, Facebook was constantly at the center of the media agenda, playing a major role in recent challenges regarding privacy and security. It was urgent to turn the page and reconnect with people, returning to the social network's original identity as a platform for connecting all members of society.

It was in this context that we created the Lisbon and Oporto Community Guide, designed by Corpcom and the social network's own Pages and Groups. The printed and online guides presented a completely different perspective of the cities and demonstrated that there are positive narratives on Facebook, featuring people connected by a common good.
In partnership with Turismo de Lisboa and the Lisbon City Council, the first project was launched at the Lisbon Story Centre, featuring an exhibition of portraits of the guide's participants and a panel with four community members. The Oporto Guide, in partnership with the Oporto City Council, was presented at the Alfândega with an exhibition, workshops, and music. The guides became the focus of positive media coverage for Facebook, with no mention of recent privacy and security challenges.
